Behind the Brand

Romantic silhouettes, striking patterns, hand-drawn prints, and luxurious fabrics define Kika Vargas's poetic vision.

After studying fine arts in Chicago and fashion at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, the Bogotá-born designer honed her craft working at Missoni. Now forging her own path with her namesake label, Vargas constructs riveting ready-to-wear creations heavily influenced by her upbringing around art and architectural forms as well as her Colombian heritage.

In 2021, Vargas became a finalist for the 2021 LVMH Prize, a special honor, considering it was the first Colombian designer to achieve this recognition. Vargas also became part of TARGET’s annual Fall22 designer collaboration, which included some of her staple styles and prints.

Even as the label grows, her mission remains the same: Focusing on working with and sourcing from our country’s local pool of craftspeople and traditions, while we enrich our processes with resources from all over the world. We are comitted to give back to our community and we manufacture locally in Bogotá and employ around 100 womens head of household.

Now with presence in more than 30 luxury retailers around the world, the brand is on the way to becoming an international household name.
